vocab dash, the website at vocabdash.com and the vocab dash app, is run by Mystery Systems LLC. This policy says what we keep about you, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other sites and apps.
What we keep
Your account
Your username and password, which is stored scrambled so we can't read it. We don't ask for your name, email address or phone number. We also remember the devices you're logged in on, so you stay logged in.
What you study
Your settings, decks and notes, and your answers, so your reviews can be scheduled and synced between your devices. Text you paste to make a deck is used only to find its words. If you import your history from another app, it's added to your account, and anything you enter for the import is used once and not kept.
The AI helper
What you ask the AI helper is sent to an AI provider, ours or one you connected, and the answers are kept so you can come back to them. A key of your own is used only for your own requests.
Reminders
If you turn on reminders in the browser, we keep what it gives us for sending them.
On your device
Your study data and the dictionary are kept on your device so vocab dash works offline, along with a cookie that keeps you logged in. None of it is used to track you.
While you use it
The server sees your IP address, which it uses only to block abuse; it isn't stored. It also counts requests and errors to keep itself healthy, without recording who made them.
Who else sees it
- Cloudflare, which carries traffic to our server (their privacy policy).
- The AI provider, for what you send the AI helper.
- Your browser's push service, for reminders.
- Another app, if you import from it.
We don't share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account, which removes everything at once. A deleted account stays for a while in older backups, which we use only to recover from a failure, and if we restore one, accounts deleted since are deleted again.
Your choices
- Delete your account at any time in Settings › Delete account.
- Write to [email protected] for a copy of your data or with any question. Depending on where you live, the law may give you more rights over your data, including the right to complain to a regulator.
Children
vocab dash isn't for children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we'll let you know in the app about any change that matters.
